Wolf Pack POG Society
An evolving and experimental social practice sharing the game of POGs with a mix of both familiar and unfamiliar players. With this children's game recognized as one of the first significant microtrends in pop culture, we interact with both these tiny images and our peers in friendly and sometimes competitive play. Invented "house rules," game piece alteration, disputes, mischief, and trading is encouraged.
The Wolf Pack POG Society serves as a "rough draft" for possible expansion to a broader experiment.
This brief exploration is documented in a public Instagram account.
Together, we will discover the fleeting joy of an 8-month span (1993-1994) that absolutely gripped every elementary student in the US. This is my "place based" concept....it just so happens that my "place" exists within time. This is collectable joy without scalpers. They hold value only in memory.
